Born on August 19, 1967 in Macin, Tulcea County, Romania; married, one son.

 

 

 

1981-1985:

Industrial High-School Macin-Tulcea, Romania.

1985-1990:

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

1990:

Dipl.-Ing (M.Sc.). Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

2001:

Dr.-Ing. degree (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Cluj - Napoca, Romania. Ph.D. Thesis: "Contributions to the study of electronically-commutated doubly-salient permanent magnet motors"; Ph.D. Advisor: Prof. Biro Karoly.

2 weeks research stage at the Laboratory of Electrical Machines and Power electronics, University of Ghent, Belgium.

3 weeks research stage at the Laboratory of Power Electronics and Electric Drives, University of Akron, OH, USA.

2001 - 2002: Post-doc stage at Université de Picardie "Jules Vernes", Amiens, France.
