Intersection in Wolfsburg (Germany), multiple crossing dynamic objects, dynamic occlusions.

Intersection in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). Handling occlusions while the host vehicle is performing a turn.

Long traffic sequence in Cluj-Napoca, showing the results in urban traffic.

Sequence taken in controlled conditions (testing ground), for measuring the accuracy of speed and orientation estimation.

Explanation for the panels in the video sequences:

Color of the obstacles: RED – dynamic, GREEN – static. The speed vector is shown.

1. Qualitative evaluation (original movie linked by the paper). Color labels describe the direction of object motion. Purple = static, red = incoming, blue = outgoing, green = to right, yellow = to left.

The following videos encode the direction as hue, and speed as saturation, following the Middlebury color coding style.

Color coding key (from http://vision.middlebury.edu/flow/eval/iccv07submission/results-a1.html )

2. Qualitative evaluation – re-creation of the original movie, showing the system behavior in a long city traffic sequence.

3. Video of the sequence used for quantitative evaluation of an incoming object’s speed (high relative speed).

4. Video of the sequence used for quantitative evaluation of a passing object’s speed (high absolute speed).

5. Objects crossing paths, and occlusions. The vehicle in front is obstructed by the pedestrians, which cross each other’s paths.
