The Department of Electrical Machines, Marketing & Management was founded in 1992 by joining two groups of the former Polytechnic Institute of Cluj (that of electrical machines, respectively marketing and management).
The founder head of department was prof. I.A. VIOREL. This position was held by prof. K.Á. BÍRÓ during 1996-2008.
