Short summary of my research and work

My research in the field of Computer Vision was focused in several main directions:

  1. Development of algorithms and methods for object detection and recognition in the field of monocular infrared, color or grayscale images . My contributions in this field were:
    • the development of object detection methods for infrared images, with focus on pedestrians and cars
    • development of a temporal model for predicting the pedestrian intention to cross the street based on the analysis of infrared monocular images and color images -development of pedestrian detection methods for color and grayscale monocular images based on feature based classification and on deep learning
  2. Development of algorithms and methods for medical image analysis. My contributions in the filed comprise:
    • development of methods for classification of the hepatocelular carcinoma in ultrasound images
    • development of methods for kidney tumor segmentation in CT images
    • proposal of methods for OCT medical image segmentation and identification of the retinal layers and fluids
